Dear Mission Supporter,
Although our summer activities are winding down, this is still a busy time at The Mission. The back-to-school events are picking up, and we have a back-to-school spirit rally planned to pray for the children and the faculty at all of the schools. Please remember to pray for our children, their mothers, and the new residents on our campus.
Recent and upcoming events: The Missions Connection celebration on July 30th was a special day, as many of our supporters learned more about the Mission. Additionally, in July, The resident women attended a revival on campus, and many will be attending a women’s conference in Galveston this September. Our children enjoyed their summer activities of Vacation Bible School, chess, cooking, music, art and drama classes, soccer camp, and the Jurassic Quest field trip.
We have been able to sustain our pre-pandemic occupancy level of 110 residents, (49 of those residents are children). We have plans to reach our maximum capacity of 120 residents by the fourth quarter. The demand for our services is high, and inflation continues to impact our budget. Our giving year-to-date is under budget, so we need your help.
The holiday season will be here before you know it, so please consider coming out for a tour to learn how to get involved for this special time of year.
Our $960,000 building campaign for a new dormitory is progressing with approximately $410,000 either collected, pledged, or matched, and HomeAid Houston has selected us as one of their 2023 projects. However, there will be additional costs for demolition, site preparation, parking spaces and furnishings. A generous donor has committed up to $400,000 more in matching funds to cover the pledges paid and additional funds received. Construction is scheduled to start during the second quarter of next year. If you would like to know more about our fundraising efforts for the new dormitory, please contact us at (713) 930-0665.
Thank you for partnering with us in God’s work at the Mission. We continue to praise Him for His protection, provision, and guidance during these challenging times. Your investment has allowed us to provide much needed programs and services for our residents as well as the nearby community.
Please prayerfully consider a financial contribution to The Mission of Yahweh and be a blessing to others in need at this critical time. Your prayers, volunteer service and financial support truly makes a difference.
