A Non-Denominational Christian Shelter
for Homeless and Abused Women and Children
The Mission of Yahweh has empowered homeless and abused women and their children for over 45 years. Located in the Carverdale neighborhood of northwest Houston, our doors are always open for women in crisis. We are a truly unique refuge that not only gives food, clothing and shelter, but is also committed to rehabilitating women to become self-sufficient, productive members of society. At The Mission of Yahweh, we shelter, clothe and feed over 700 women and children per year. We also support over 4000 neighborhood residents with donations of food, clothing and other necessities. Through our series of programs, we address the physical, educational, psychological, and spiritual needs of each resident.
“I was hungry and you gave me food. I was alone and you invited me into your house. I was without clothes and you gave me something to wear.” Matthew 25:35-36
A Volunteer & Servant Ministry
The Mission is a volunteer-based homeless shelter — a successful example of what the private sector can do using love, compassion, and creativity to help the poor and needy. We are thankful for the dedicated individuals and groups who support and serve the Mission, sharing God's grace working amongst his people, and changing lives.
